Oladotun Ojuolape AKayode aka ‘D.O to the T.U.N’ is a man who wears many hats. His profile as a dancer/choreographer, voice-over artiste, master of ceremonies and broadcaster is enviable to his peers. He has come to find out the dignity of hard work, the reward of perseverance and satisfaction of success in his chosen endeavours.

Born in 1984 in Lagos State to a mother (nurse) and a father (civil engineer), Dotun’s passion for the arts began in his tender years when he fell in love with the flawlessly supreme dance moves of the King of Pop Michael Jackson and the wild stage antics of soul brother number 1, James Brown. This passion led him to begin dancing as part of the group called IGNITE just after he passed out from high school. His skills as a dancer eventually landed him in popular music videos for some A-list artistes such as D’Banj and DJ Zeez.

Dotun’s drive for all things entertainment and media further steered his mind towards studying Mass Communications at the the Lagos State University(LASU) and even though he specialized in Advertising and Public Relations, his love for broadcasting made it paramount for him to work at a radio station. He began as an intern at Cool F.M 96.9 in Lagos where he built his ‘muscle’ as a presenter and a voice-over artiste and hosting such shows as ‘The Sunday Afternoon Show’, ’Chevrolet Football Fans’ Time’, ‘Love Zone ‘, All-nite Cafe’. He presently anchors ‘The Mid-Day Oasis’ and ‘Cool Best 20’ sponsored by Hennessy.

This Ondo boy had in the course of his stint at Cool F.M interviewed some of the biggest names in Nigerian entertainment: from Tuface Idibia, DBanj, Mavins, eLDee Tha Don, Mo’ Cheddar, WizKid, M.I, Banky W, Ice Prince to mention but a few. With his increasing clout in the entertainment/media industry and his energetic persona, he has also hosted a plethora of live shows and concerts starting with Barcadi/Airtel Show in 2011. He has since compered other major events such as ‘Jimmy’s Jump-Off’, Big Brother Live Show in Nigeria, Nigezie Re-launch Party, Industry Nite, Spice TV Fashion Show, Babcock University Award Nightetc.

Even though he is popular on-air as the ladies favorite, Dotun is a nonetheless a hard-working go-getter who believes that you only live once so the best way is to ‘go hard or go home’. His hard work earned him a couple of recognitions, in 2010 he was nominated for Future Award as broadcaster of the year, also nominated and won the Dynamic All Youth Award 2011 as the broadcaster of the year.

He has also won a couple of the Awards like Federal University of Technology Akure Student union award for radio personality of the year, Society Award radio personality of the year, Even though the rigours of work could be unforgiving and fame could go to one’s head, he tries his best to be as generous as he can be with the people around him and his burgeoning fan base.

This year, he has yet again bagged another nomination in the forthcoming Future Awards as the On-Air personality of the year (radio). I guess this is definitely a well deserved award for the relentless and humble Cool fm presenter. So kindly cast your votes via this link---> http://thefuturenigeria.com/vote/radio/
